This was much used in the Temple. “He carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubim, and palm-trees, and open flowers.” They were then overlaid with gold (1 Kings 6:18, 29-35¹⁸And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen. (1 Kings 6:18)

The Psalmist prophetically laments its being broken down by the enemy with axes and hammers (Psa. 74:6⁶But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers. (Psalm 74:6)). For the “carved images” of idolatry (Judg. 18:18¹⁸And these went into Micah's house, and fetched the carved image, the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image. Then said the priest unto them, What do ye? “Tapestry” From Concise Bible Dictionary:

The word is marbaddim, translated “coverings of tapestry,” but may simply signify “coverlets” (Prov. 7:16¹⁶I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. (Proverbs 7:16); Prov. 31:22²²She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. (Proverbs 31:22)). The Hebrew word occurs nowhere else in scripture.
