(resinous). A cone-bearing tree whose reddish fragrant wood was much prized (1 Kings 7:2²He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars. (1 Kings 7:2); Psa. 92:12¹²The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. (Psalm 92:12); Song of Sol. 5:15¹⁵His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
