Ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.
Since Jesus has saved us, we no longer belong to this world. Instead, our citizenship is in heaven. Why did the Lord choose me? Just because He wanted to, that’s all. That’s grace. So having been chosen and separated out of the world, why do I still want the things of the world? Because my old nature is still in me and is very easily activated. We need to ask the Lord to help us keep the world and its pleasures in the place of death and be more devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ.
