If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. (2 Tim. 2:21)

That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor. (1 Thess. 4:4)

God hath … called us … unto holiness. (1 Thess. 4:7)

Oh to be but emptier, lowlier,    Mean, unnoticed, and unknown, And to God a vessel holier,    Filled with Christ, and Christ alone! Naught of earth to cloud the glory,    Naught of self the light to dim, Telling forth His wondrous story,    Emptied—to be filled with Him!

I will mention the loving-kindnesses of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which He hath bestowed on them according to His mercies, and according to the multitude of His loving-kindnesses. For He said, Surely they are My people, children that will not lie: so He was their Saviour. (Isa. 63:7‑8)

This people have I formed for Myself; they shall show forth My praise. (Isa. 43:21)

For the fathers’ sakes beloved,    Israel, in Thy grace restored, Shall on earth, the curse removed,    Be the people of the Lord.

These, redeemed from every nation,    Shall in triumph bless Thy name; Every voice shall cry, “Salvation    To our God and to the Lamb.”

Then said He, Lo, I come to do Thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: but this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins, forever sat down on the right hand of God. (Heb. 10:9‑12)

Not all the blood of beasts,    On Jewish alters slain, Could give the guilty conscience peace    Or wash away its stain.

But Christ, the heavenly Lamb,    Took all our guilt away, A sacrifice of nobler name    And richer blood than they.
