When he had apprehended him [Peter], he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him, intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. (Acts 12:4‑5)

Without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears. (2 Tim. 1:3‑4)

O Lord, we bring Thee these for whom we    pray — Be Thou their strength, their courage and their    stay; And should their faith flag as they run the race, Show them again the vision of Thy face.

Be to them their vision; Lord of glory, Hold them to follow; hold them fast by Thee — O Thou who art more near to us than all, Let them listen for Thy voice when it calls.

Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure. So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch. (Matt. 27:64,66)

When the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint Him. Could not all our sins retain Him,    Prisoned in the guarded cave? These He blotted out in dying;    By His cross He spoiled the grave:       Lo! He’s risen!    Yes, the Lord is risen indeed.

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. Thou didst blow with Thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters. (Ex. 15:9‑10)

The salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him. (Psa. 37:39‑40)

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. (Luke 4:18)

Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in Me. (Luke 7:22‑23)
