The Lord is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression. Pardon, I beseech Thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of Thy mercy. And the Lord said, I have pardoned. (Num. 14:18‑20)

Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord.
