Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not: and let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not. So she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out that she had gleaned. (Ruth 2:15‑17)
Oh may Thy Spirit guide our souls
   And mold them to Thy will,
That from Thy paths we ne’er may
      stray,
   But keep Thy precepts still!
Oh largely give, ’tis all Thy own,
   The Spirit’s goodly fruit:
Praise, issuing forth in life, alone
   Our living Lord can suit.

Thy victories and Thine endless fame
Through the wide world shall run,
And everlasting ages sing
The triumphs Thou hast won.
How blest are we, who have a part
In the immortal song;
Wonder and joy become our heart,
And praise and thanks, our tongue.

I will raise Me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in Mine heart and in My mind. (1 Sam. 2:35)
Christ being come a high priest of good things to come … for if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Heb. 9:11,13‑14)
O God, we come with singing,
   Because Thy great High Priest
Our names to Thee is bringing,
   Nor e’er forgets the least:
For us He wears the mitre,
   Where “holiness” shines bright;
For us His robes are whiter
   Than heaven’s unsullied light.

We went through fire and through water: but Thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place. (Psa. 66:12)
He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. (Job 23:10)
Yet our gold shone out with a richer
      glow,
   As it mirrored a form above
That bent o’er the fire — though unseen
      by us —
   With looks of ineffable love.
So He waited there with a watchful eye,
   With a love that is strong and sure;
And His gold did not suffer a bit more
      heat
   Than was needed to make it pure.

Many pastors have destroyed My vineyard, they have trodden My portion under foot, they have made My pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. (Jer. 12:10)
I will give you pastors according to Mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. (Jer. 3:15)
Take heed … to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood. (Acts 20:28)
Water ye the sheep, and go and feed them. (Gen. 29:7)
Thy Shepherd love impart,
   That never wearieth —
Oh give to me the Shepherd heart
   That loveth unto death.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12)
Listen, it was not to angels
All this wondrous love was given,
But to one who scorned, despised Him,
Scorned and hated Christ in heaven;
From the lowest depths of darkness
To His light’s radiant height,
Thus in me He told the measure
Of His love and His delight.

The Lord magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel. (1 Chron. 29:25)
The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. (Hab. 2:14)
He will break the swords of the mighty
   men
And shatter their shining spears;
He will loose the bands of the prisoners
And free them from their fears;
He will reign in justice and rule in love,
And war shall cease to be;
And the glory of God shall cover the
   earth
As the waters cover the sea.

I have a friend so precious,
   So very dear to me!
He loves me with such tender love;
   He loves so faithfully.
Sometimes I’m faint and weary;
   He knows that I am weak,
And as He bids me lean on Him,
   His help I gladly seek.
(Sung in the rocks and caves of France during the persecution of the Huguenots 300 years ago.)

I knew that Thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness. (Jonah 4:2)
His merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord. (Psa. 117:2)
As debtors to mercy alone,
Of heavenly mercy we sing;
Nor fear to draw near to the throne,
Our person and offerings to bring:
The wrath of a sin-hating God
With us can have nothing to do;
The Savior’s obedience and blood
Hide all our transgressions from
   view.

These things were done, that the SCRIPTURE should be fulfilled, A bone of Him shall not be broken. (John 19:36)
Again another SCRIPTURE saith, They shall look on Him whom they pierced. (John 19:37)
As yet they knew not the SCRIPTURE, that He must rise again from the dead. (John 20:9)
Himself He could not save;
Love’s stream too deeply flowed;
In love Himself He gave
To pay the debt we owed;
Obedience to His Father’s will,
And love to Him did all fulfill.
