Surely every man walketh in a vain show. … And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in Thee. (Psa. 39:6‑7)

The Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (Isa. 58:11)

There where the fountains fall cool,    Their waters unfailing and pure; There where the ministering palms    Stand like His promises sure: Oh! there was peace in its shade;    Oh! there was rest in its calm; And its sweet silences lay    On my bruised spirit like balm; Long did I kneel in His court,    And walk in His garden so fair; All I had lost or had lacked    I found in His treasuries there.

I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest. (Psa. 55:8)

Thou hast been … a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. (Isa. 25:4)

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so He bringeth them unto their desired haven. (Psa. 107:29‑30)

The storm is your shelter from danger and sin, And God Himself takes you for safety within; The tempest with Him passes into deep calm, And the roar of the winds is the sound of a psalm; Be glad and serene when the tempest clouds form; God smiles on His child in the eye of the storm.
