Son of Man, His incarnation    Opened first the tale of grace; Son of Man, in new creation    Leader of a chosen race!       Well may glory    Crown Him, in the ordered place!

Every knee shall bow before Him,    Every tongue confess His name, Ransomed myriads shall adore Him    Who endured the sinner’s shame!       From the glory    God does now His worth proclaim.

In all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succor them that are tempted. (Heb. 2:17‑18)

He knoweth, and He has compassion;    He’s touched with our feeling of pain; He knows and is ready to succor,    Because He has suffered the same.

’Tis comforting e’er to remember,    Our high priest, the Lord over all, Is touched by our feeling of weakness    And hastens to answer our call.

The serpent “lifted up”    Could life and healing give; So Jesus on the cross    MUST die that we might live: For whosoever will believe Shall everlasting life receive.

Thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not Thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living? (Psa. 56:13)
