The church of God is a mystery, which was not explained in the Old Testament. In this mystery are hid the wisdom and knowledge of the church, which did not exist until 50 days after Christ rose from the dead. The church is the body of Christ, which includes all who believe on Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Christ is the head of His body, the church.
Paul was joyful to see the Colossians’ faith in Christ. It brought order to their lives. Christ is our stability and the food for our spiritual life, just like a plant has a root to keep it stable and to provide food for it.
All the fullness of the Godhead is found in the Man Christ Jesus. God became a man named Jesus, so He could show to man everything that God is as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus shows us the heart of the Father, the comfort of the Spirit, and the Savior of sinners. Christ is everything to the believer. Believers have been forgiven all their sin. By dying on the cross, Jesus has freed us from living under laws that lead to death. The believer no longer celebrates religious holidays and ceremonies. The only ceremony the Lord has for believers is baptism. We are also asked to remember the Lord in His death. Now we want to live to please Jesus and obey His will.
