66*. Come! Hear the Gospel Sound
6,4,6,4,6,6,6,4.
by G.W. Frazer
Come! hear the gospel sound —
Though guilty, now draw near,
Though vile, you need not fear,
With joy you now may hear —
“And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.” (Luke 14:22)
God’s love in Christ we see —
Greater it could not be —
He’s righteous now to save
“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” (1 John 4:9)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
"All things are ready: come!"
Christ everything hath done:
The work is now complete;
“And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.” (Luke 14:17)
“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.” (John 17:4)
God’s house is filling fast,
Some guest will be the last,
Yes! soon salvation’s day
Then grace no more will say —
“(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
