| This question, yet to be asked by angelic voice in heaven, after the Lord Jesus has come for all His own, is answered in the verse that follows: “No man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.” And as John “wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon … one of the elders saith … Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book. … And I beheld … a Lamb as it had been slain. … And He came and took the book.” Then it was that they who were about the throne “sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.” “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.” We who know Him await “the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which in His times He shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords … to whom be honor and power everlasting.
