Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.
There is something so sad about this verse. The Lord is standing outside a closed door and asking for admittance. The sad thing is that the door that is closed is the door to a Christian’s heart. Is it you, or me? Am I so busy with all my daily routine that the Lord Jesus is shut out of my life? Jesus longs for full fellowship with each of us. It’s our responsibility to let Him into our life and enjoy His loving presence. Let’s keep our hearts open to Him at all times so that He won’t have to knock to let us know that He’s there.
