Luke 7:13  •  1 min. read  •  grade level: 4
When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
One of the characteristics of the Lord was that He had compassion on those in trouble. We often see funeral processions and feel no particular compassion for those who mourn - we don’t even know who they are. But Jesus cared very deeply for this widow in our verse. She had lost her only son. The Lord cared so much that He raised him back to life again. Jesus cares for you in your sorrow. “His compassions fail not. They are new every morning.” He never runs out of compassion.
