Conduit

(wit) (conductor). A water pipe or aqueduct (2 Kings 18:17; 20:20¹⁷And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rab-saris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller's field. (2 Kings 18:17)
²⁰And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? (2 Kings 20:20); Isa. 7:3; 36:2³Then said the Lord unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field; (Isaiah 7:3)

Inside Hezekiah’s Conduit

Channel for conducting water. There are still the remains of one that conveyed water from what are called Solomon’s pools to Jerusalem. We read that Hezekiah by means of a pool and a conduit brought water into Jerusalem (2 Kings 20:20²⁰And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? (2 Kings 20:20); compare also 2 Chron. 32:30³⁰This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon, and brought it straight down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works. (2 Chronicles 32:30)). Efforts are now (1894) being made to bring water to that city by the old conduits.
