By the grace of God I am what I am.
We often look down on others who do wrong as if we wouldn’t do the same. But human beings, no matter who they are, or how they’ve been raised, are capable of doing the most awful evil. It’s only the grace of God that keeps us. We can have no confidence in ourselves. But we can have all confidence in God. He alone can keep us from evil and we can say with the Apostle Paul, “By the grace of God I am what I am.”
