He found [Jacob] in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: so the Lord alone did lead him.1 – Even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.2
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.3
The Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.4 – For this God is our God forever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.5 – Who teacheth like him?6

Thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: … and thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee. And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: … and when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations.1
[Jesus] is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.2 – The smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.3
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.4
Pray without ceasing.5

Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.1 – He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.2
Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.3 – The joy of the Lord is your strength.4 – Paul … thanked God, and took courage.5
Knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.6

If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.1 – O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.2
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.3
I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.4 – I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.5

Father, I will that they … whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me.1 – I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.2 – He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.3
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.4 – Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus.5

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.1
Be ye therefore perfect.2 – Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.3
I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment.4
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit.5
There remaineth … a rest to the people of God.6 – Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.7

I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.1 – In his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.2 – As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: so the Lord alone did lead him.3
Even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.4 – This God is our God forever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.5
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee.6 – Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. … For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.7
Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.8

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.1 – He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit.2
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. … Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. … Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.3
The Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.4

You, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel.1 – That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.2
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.3 – Sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.4
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.5

Enoch walked with God.1 – Can two walk together, except they be agreed?2 – It is good for me to draw nigh to God.3
The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. … When they in their trouble did turn unto the Lord God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.4
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.5
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, … and having an high priest over the house of God; let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.6
