Listen from:
And they took Joseph’s coat.   .   . and dipped the coat in the blood  .  .  .  and they brought it to their father; and said, This have we found.
Hatred turned into revenge. Revenge brought consequences. So the brothers had to cover up their crime through deception. Deception was perpetrated through lies. How hard can a person’s conscience get? The ruse worked. Jacob believed from the “evidence” that Joseph was dead and “mourned for his son many days. And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted.” Jacob was a deceiver as a young man and had deceived his old, blind father. Now his own sons were deceiving him. What goes around comes around.
