He is despised and rejected of men.
Why doesn’t the verse say, “He was despised and rejected of men”? Because the Bible is a living book and the Lord Jesus Christ is just as much despised today as He was when He was here. Unregenerate man hates God and Christ. Men’s hearts have never changed. Only the love of God shed abroad in our hearts has caused us to love and revere the Lord. Unsaved man cannot. Jesus is indeed despised and rejected.
