A Hebrew word that occurs four times, but in the AV is only once untranslated. This is in Psalm 9:16¹⁶The Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. (Psalm 9:16), where the margin reads “that is, meditation.” It is thought by some to refer to a musical sign or instrument. Literally it means “the sound of a harp when struck.” In Psalm 19:14¹⁴Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
