HOW proud and happy this dear little dog is! He loves to have the attention of his little mistress. And his devotion to her makes her love him very much.
The dog is a very affectionate and faithful creature. Often he is the means of saving the life of his master or mistress. And many times a dog has lost his own life in rescuing from danger and death, those he loves.
We cannot help thinking of the blessed Saviour who loved us enough to die for us. And just as the affection and loyalty of our pet dog wins our love, so the love of Christ in His sacrifice for us, causes us to love Him in return.
Do you, dear reader, love that precious Saviour who came from His glorious home in heaven down to this poor world where He had not even a place to lay His head? Do you love that One who gave up so much, and died on the cross to bear the punishment of your sins? He loves you, and He wants your love in return.
As time goes on you will find that nothing down here will satisfy the heart. But the love of Christ can fill you with peace and contentment.
