(learner). Follower of Christ (Matt. 10:24²⁴The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. (Matthew 10:24)); of John (Matt. 9:14¹⁴Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? (Matthew 9:14)). Applied specially to the twelve (Matt. 10:1; 11:1; 20:17¹And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. (Matthew 10:1)
¹And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities. (Matthew 11:1)
¹⁷And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, (Matthew 20:17)).
