A GROUP of happy schoolboys started off on a Saturday morning to sail their boats in. a little stream. Their parents had given them very strict orders that they must not go in swimming, as there were many deep and dangerous pools in the stream. For several hours the boys enjoyed themselves with their boats, but at noon it became so hot that one of the boys decided he would have a little swim.
At first the other boys refused, but finally they were persuaded that "no one would tell," and the whole group was soon in the water. Very soon one of the boys disappeared. His brother. climbed up the bank and gave a loud cry for help, which brought three men from a field close by. One of them threw off his coat and dived into the pool, and Sam was brought up unconscious and laid on the bank. In an hour he was in his own bed, and soon recovered; but he never forgot that day.
"As I was going down," he said, "my disobedience and other sins came before my mind; it was awful as I thought of what it would be to wake up in hell." Sam is now a true Christian and he often thanks the Lord for saving his life, and also for saving his soul.
Dear reader, are you safe in Christ, or are you still going on without Him? Why not take Him as your Saviour today? If Sam had listened to the Word of God and obeyed his parents, he would have been spared that terrible experience. But although he was naughty God was gracious and saved both his life and his precious soul. Now if you will hearken to the voice of God and accept Christ as your Saviour, you will be saved for time and eternity.
"CHILDREN, OBEY YOUR PARENTS IN ALL THINGS: FOR THIS IS WELL-PLEASING UNTO THE LORD." COL, 3:20.
