SEPTEMBER 29
Seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
1 Corinthians 14:12
God’s purpose for public ministry in the Church is for the edifying of those that hear. The Lord wants His Church built up in the Christian faith. The Corinthian saints were zealous of spiritual gifts which was a fine thing to be zealous over. But the underlying purpose of the gift is for the edification of others. If my words don’t edify, then I’d be better off staying quiet.
