• Haman falls into the very trap he had prepared which is another characteristic of the wicked that the Word presents to us. Haman had no doubt that, when Ahasuerus asked him how he should treat the man the king delighted to honor, it could be none else but himself of whom the king spoke. He believed, while designating honor upon honor for such a one that he would be traveling in his proper dignity, and adding to his own prestige — and behold the honors are for Mordecai.
