(1) One noted for wisdom (1 Kings 4:31³¹For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about. (1 Kings 4:31); 1 Chron. 2:6⁶And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all. (1 Chronicles 2:6); title to Psa. 89). (2) A Levite singer (1 Chron. 6:44; 15:17-19⁴⁴And their brethren the sons of Merari stood on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch, (1 Chronicles 6:44)
