Three Weeks To Live<\/div><\/div>\n\u201cThe doctor says I have only three weeks to live,\u201d said a tall, thin young woman about twenty years old.
\n\u201cI suppose you are thinking a great deal of where you are going after death?\u201d said her visitor.
\n\u201cOh, no! I try not to think of that at all! I\u2019ve enjoyed life, and it\u2019s no use my thinking of anything else now. Besides, no less than five people have been here to see me.
\n\u201cEach one of them has told me that I must prepare for heaven by being good. I can\u2019t do that, and I don\u2019t even want to try. Anyway, I have only three weeks to live, and that isn\u2019t enough time to do all that they tell me, so why should I make myself unhappy with the thought of it now?\u201d
\n\u201cMy dear girl! I\u2019ve only fifteen minutes before I have to leave, but I assure you that in that fifteen minutes you can be made fit for the presence of God.\u201d
\n\u201cExcuse me! I don\u2019t mean to be rude, but I can\u2019t help laughing at the idea of me-me-being fit to meet God in fifteen minutes!\u201d
\n\u201cLet me show you what God says in His book, the Bible. Listen: \u2018But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved).\u2019 Aren\u2019t you \u2018dead in sins\u2019?\u201d
\n\u201cYes, I know I am.\u201d
\n\u201cThen hear what God says: \u2018For His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins.\u2019 You say that is you. Don\u2019t you see that God loves you just as you are? It is true you cannot make yourself good-not in thirty years, much less in three weeks. \u201cBut God-He meets you with His great love just where you are.\u201d
\nAs the knowledge of God\u2019s love reached her heart, this young woman, apparently so careless about eternal things, burst into tears.
\n\u201cOh, why didn\u2019t the others tell me this?\u201d she exclaimed. \u201cTo think of God loving me!\u201d
\nHave you believed this great love of God?
\n\u201cGod so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life\u201d (John 3:16).
