The Word of God places special emphasis on that which we learn from people we know, because we can see if the teachings are carried out in the life of the teacher. However, I would encourage you to place special value on that which you have learned and seen carried out by those in your assembly. Books, tapes, broadcasts and other study aids may be good for reference, but there is no substitute for seeing the Word of God carried out in the daily life of a believer.
