Christ on the cross saved us from the Penalty of sin.
Isa. 53:4, 5
4
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:4‑5)

Christ on the throne saves us from the Power of sin.
Heb. 7:24, 25
24
But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
25
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (Hebrews 7:24‑25)

Christ coming again will save us from the Presence of sin.
Heb. 9:27, 28
27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:27‑28)

"Prepare to meet thy God!"
Amos 4:12

Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. (Amos 4:12)
