And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen Him, and it is He that talketh with thee.
The man who was born blind had never seen the one who had put clay on his eyes; but Jesus sought him out and said, “Thou hast seen him.” The point is that you can see the Son of God only with the eye of faith. The blind man saw Him before he laid eyes on Him; others laid eyes on Him but did not see Him! In answer to the simple question: “Who is he Lord?” Jesus adds, “It is He that talketh with thee.” Having received the answer that he eagerly anticipated, the healed man immediately answers: “Lord, I believe” and worships Him.
