Fear

Listen from:
And David was afraid of God that day.
David was trying to get the ark of God to Jerusalem. This was a commendable thing to do. But in his zeal he neglected to move it as God’s instructions in the law stated, and a man, Uzza, was struck dead because he touched the ark. Now David’s excitement turns to fear. Man does well to be fearful when confronted with God’s power. But the wonderful thing about being a Christian is that, because of Jesus, we don’t need to be afraid of God. In fact, Scripture tells us to “come boldly” to the throne of grace. Because of the cross and because Jesus lives, we have no need to be afraid.
