And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain. . . for he feared to dwell in Zoar.
Lot’s troubles were not over. Something about the little town of Zoar frightened him, so he moved out into the mountains. That was where the angels had told him to go in the first place, but Lot had been afraid to live in the mountains after living in the city. Now he is afraid to live in Zoar. We can almost feel sorry for him. Fear controlled his life. And fear will rule ours too, if we don’t walk close to the Lord in obedience to His will.
