Foreknowledge

This is an attribute of deity which refers to God’s ability to know all things before they happen (Isa. 41:2-42Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow. 3He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet. 4Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am he. (Isaiah 41:2‑4); Acts 2:23; 15:1823Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: (Acts 2:23)

2God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. It is different from divine providence, which is God’s power to guide and direct all things on earth according to His will (Eph. 1:1111In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: (Ephesians 1:11); Prov. 21:11The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. (Proverbs 21:1)). With foreknowledge and providence, God is well able to predict the future, for He controls world history.
