“I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely”
(
Rev. 21:6
6
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. (Revelation 21:6)
).
“In My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink”
(
Psa. 69:21
21
They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. (Psalm 69:21)
).
What a striking example of the heart of God and of the heart of man! Oh! If the world would so heartlessly give the Creator such a drink, let us—redeemed by His precious blood—offer that drink of water which will bring Him refreshment.
May we be as David’s mighty men of old (
2 Sam. 23:15
15
And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate! (2 Samuel 23:15)
), rendering to our blessed Lord Jesus that worship which will refresh His blessed heart.
