Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go.
Why did Solomon suggest this? If I’m a Christian, won’t my Christianity “rub off” on my friend so that he will be able to control his anger? No. The next verse says: “Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.” You see, our old nature is VERY strong. And it falls into sin extremely easily. The Apostle Paul puts it this way: “Evil communications [or associations] corrupt good manners.” In other words, it will be the Christian who fails by keeping bad company, not the unsaved becoming good. Choose your friends prayerfully.
