The Apostle Paul had a lot going for him. He was well-educated, and had a powerful position in politics. But when he met the Lord on the road to Damascus, his life was totally changed. He gave up everything that this world had to offer and dedicated his life to serving the Lord Jesus. Do you think he lost out? Of course not. He may have lost something in this life but his eternal gain is great. He, like Moses before him, had “respect unto the recompense of the reward.”

Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. (Hebrews 11:26)
