Neglect not the gift that is in thee.
God does not want you to let your particular gift lie dormant. We can become so busy with everyday living that we tend to neglect that special work that God has fitted us for, and it lies unused. Paul is encouraging Timothy in the same way. Timothy had a lot of talent. He was a teacher for the various assemblies. He represented Paul when the Apostle was unable to go. And the Apostle was concerned that even Timothy might not use his gift to its potential. Young person, while you are young and energetic, use your gift for the Lord.
