[The executioner] went and beheaded [John] in the prison.
John the Baptist had spent his adult life in faithful service for God. He had preached, and warned, and baptized, and spoken the truth of God to all. And yet God allowed him to be beheaded. God’s ways are not our ways. He often allows things in our lives that we do not understand nor can figure out. But we can be sure that God makes no mistakes and is working all things for His glory and the blessing of His people.
