Laying up in store for themselves a GOOD FOUNDATION against the time to come.
We are trained from childhood to “save for a rainy day,” as my mother used to say. In other words, if we have some spare cash, put a little away for the future when we might not have any. We need to do the same in spiritual things. To lay up treasures in heaven we need to give ourselves for the benefit of others. Here is what is required: we need to do good, be rich in good works, generous, and willing to share material things with others. These things will help build a good foundation for our future.
