Thou therefore endure hardness, as a GOOD SOLDIER of Jesus Christ.
Once again the Apostle is bringing war language into his instruction to Timothy. We have to be strong, to endure hardship. The battle is not easy, and it is long. We will be in it all the way to heaven. The Christian’s life is not promised to be easy. On the contrary, we know ahead of time that things will be tough. But continue in the path, my young friend. The end is in sight. Jesus is coming. And then the troubles and difficulties of this life will be over. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
