“The Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said... Where is the way where light dwelleth? “(Job 38:1919Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof, (Job 38:19)).
JEHOVAH asked Job this profound question, and no wonder that he exclaimed, "Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer Thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.”
If you were asked the same question, what would be your reply?
“Oh," you say at once, " do not we get all our light from the sun, the moon, and the stars, which were created to give light?”
This is the common idea, but it is not the right one; for you overlook the fact, that God said, "Let there be light; and there was light” (Gen. 1:33And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)) BEFORE He made the sun, the moon, and the stars give light upon the earth (v. 16).
So you see that Jehovah's question was not easily answered; and no man could answer it until ONE came who could reveal all the hidden things; and He said, " I am the Light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the LIGHT OF LIFE” (John 6:1212When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. (John 6:12)). He was “in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. IN HIM was life; AND THE LIFE WAS THE LIGHT OF MEN “(John 1:2-42The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (John 1:2‑4)).
Now we can answer Jehovah's question to Job: “Where is the way where light dwelleth?" It is" IN HIM." Well might Simeon say (for " the Holy Ghost was upon him ")," Mine eyes have seen Thy salvation,... a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of Thy people Israel " (Luke 2:30, 3230For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, (Luke 2:30)
32A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. (Luke 2:32)
).
Dear reader, the GOSPEL presents to you this Great Light, " whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts " (2 Peter 1:1919We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: (2 Peter 1:19)); that when that day dawns your place may be with His redeemed people where " they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light; and they shall reign forever and ever " (Rev. 22:55And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 22:5)).
No need of the sunlight in heaven, we're told;
The Light of that world is Jesus;
The Lamb is the Light in the City of Gold;
The Light of the world is Jesus.
Come to the Light, 'tis shining for thee;
Sweetly the Light has dawned upon me;
Once I was blind, but now I can see;
The Light of the world is Jesus.
