Full Text of The Incomparable Christ
Unique Life
The Lord Jesus Christ came from the glorious home of God the Father to the home of humble parents. He became the Son of Man that we might become the sons of God.
He was born contrary to the laws of nature, grew up in obscurity and lived in poverty. Though He spent His life on earth doing only good, He was despised, rejected and hated by men.
At His birth, He startled a king. In His youth, He astounded His teachers. As a man, He ruled the elements of nature — walked on the waves and hushed the wind.
He healed multitudes without medicine — and without charge. He never wrote a book and yet the books which have been written about Him are innumerable. He never wrote a song and yet He has inspired endless songs. He still does.
He never disobeyed or disappointed God though He was constantly being dismissed and despised by those that surrounded Him.
Unique Work
The great of this world — artists and athletes, philanthropists and philosophers, scientists and statesmen, warriors and wealthy — all have come and gone, but He remains. Their fame decays and their names are forgotten, but His name endures and only shines more brightly as time reveals His worth. While others came to the end of their lives with unfinished business, He finished His work perfectly — the work of putting away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. His enemies could not destroy Him and the grave could not keep Him. He was rejected by His own people and shamefully crucified, but He was raised from the dead by the power of God. He is no less now than He was then. Jesus lives today as Savior and He is coming soon as Lord.
Unique Urgency
While here, He said, “Search the Scriptures; for … they … testify of Me” (John 5:39).
The Scriptures say: “To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:43).
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Consider Him. Receive Him. Trust Him. He deserves your attention, your love and your confidence. Forever.
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow … and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
