Just the way we say the little word “so” can mean so much. God uses “so” to show us the deep intensity and extent of His love to us. “God SO loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). God couldn’t do more to show His love than send His Son to die for sinners. But deep love can be met with deep indifference and a sarcastic “so what?” How have you responded to God’s profound love to you? Has it been to receive it with the humble gratefulness of a sinner needing to be saved from wrongdoing or has it been with disinterest? The difference will determine your eternity. “How shall we escape, if we neglect SO great salvation?” (Hebrews 2:3).
