He Is Able

He is able, dear Christian, O fear not nor doubt,
Since thy Father who careth for thee,
Is exceedingly able to work all things out,
Whatsoever thy problem may be.
Are you tempted or tested, dear child of His love,
Let not dark circumstances alarm;
Just look up to that One in the Glory above,
Who is able His Word to perform.
O then trust Him completely, and rest in His Word,
Whatsoever the testing may be;
And remember, our faithful, omnipotent God
Can bless all of thy trials to thee.
Though foreboding the outlook, o'er difficult path,
On His limitless power you can count,
To give victory always, and foil Satan's wrath—
And all obstacles, He can surmount.
For His power that brought worlds into sway by His Word,
Opened deaf ears, caused blind eyes to see;
And the power that raised Jesus again from the dead—
'Tis that same power availeth for thee.
Gracious Father, increase our weak faith in Thy Word,
And forbid that we limit Thy power;
But with childlike simplicity rest in the Lord,
Simply trusting each moment and hour.
Ever grant us that stable, unwavering faith,
That relies on Thy promises sure;
For Thy love, we have proven, is stronger than death,
And Thy Word shall forever endure.
"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, BELIEVING, ye shall receive" (Matthew 21:2222And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. (Matthew 21:22)).
