HEB 6:18-19¹⁸That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: ¹⁹Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (Hebrews 6:18‑19)

Lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul.

Christian hope is quite different from worldly hope. Our hope is one of certainty. We know it is going to happen. With this in mind, we can hold on to the hope of the Lord’s coming, knowing that, because He said that He would come again, we can be certain that He will - and, we believe, very soon. Nothing should shake our hope, which is an anchor for our souls. We can be absolutely sure that our future is secure and rest for all eternity on the work of Christ on the cross. What a hope.
