How pleasant is the sound of praise!

It well becomes the saints of God:

Should we refuse our songs to raise,

The stones might tell our shame abroad.

“Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.” (Psalm 135:3)

“Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.” (Psalm 147:1)

“And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” (Luke 19:40)

For Him who washed us in His blood,

Let us our sweetest songs prepare;

He sought us wandering far from God,

And now preserves us by His care.

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.” (Revelation 1:5)

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10)

“But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

One string there is of sweetest tone,

Reserved for sinners saved by grace;

’Tis sacred to one class alone,

And touched by one peculiar race.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8)

Though angels may with rapture see

How mercy flows in Jesus’ blood,

It is not theirs to prove, as we,

The cleansing virtue of this flood.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16)

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)

Though angels praise the heavenly King,

And Him their Lord adoring own,

We can with exultation sing,

"He wears our nature on the throne."

“And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands. Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.” (Revelation 5:11-12)

“And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God. Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 7:11-12)

Lord, we adore the wondrous love

Which brought Thee here to bleed and die;

Soon may we meet in heaven above,

To sing Thy praises in the sky.

“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation. And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:9-10)
