(hog). A bristled, fierce, carnivorous animal. “Zeboim” (1 Sam. 13:18¹⁸And another company turned the way to Beth-horon: and another company turned to the way of the border that looketh to the valley of Zeboim toward the wilderness. (1 Samuel 13:18); Neh. 11:34³⁴Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat, (Nehemiah 11:34)), means hyenas. So, it is thought, the original of “speckled bird” (Jer. 12:9⁹Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour. (Jeremiah 12:9)), should be rendered.
