Wherefore laying aside. . . hypocrisies. . . desire the sincere milk of the word.
My dictionary of New Testament words defines hypocrisy as “play acting.” An actor is one who plays a part that is someone else - not him. So we too can play the part of a devoted Christian on Sundays, but during the week we run with the world and join in their activities, “acting” like one of them. Each of us needs to be ourselves, to be real - not acting a part, but being the real part.
