Iconium

Listen from:
City in Lycaonia in the center of Asia Minor, visited by Paul and Barnabas when they had been driven from Antioch of Pisidia. Multitudes of Jews and Greeks believed the word of God’s grace, and the apostles wrought many signs and wonders there. They had to flee for their lives but returned again (Acts 13:51; Acts 14:1,19,21; Acts 16:2). In 2 Timothy 3:11 Paul speaks of the persecutions he had endured at this city. It is now called Konieh, a town of some extent, 37° 53' N, 32° 25' E.
