Is Father on Deck?

HOW would you like to be out on the water in a storm like the one in our picture? I am sure most of us would be very much. frightened, but I want to tell you about a little girl who was quite peaceful and even slept through a had storm like this.
Her father was the "skipper" of a good-sized vessel and one time she accompanied him on one of his voyages. She loved her father very much and needless to say she had every confidence that he was able to guide the ship safe through the storms.
She went quietly to bed each night, out one night a terrible storm blew up while she was asleep. She was awakened by the tossing of the vessel and at first she was frightened. The first question she asked was, "Is Father on deck?" When she was told that he was, she just put her head. back on the pillow, turned over, and went quietly to sleep again. All was well as long as father was on deck and guiding the ship!
Let me ask you, dear reader, who is guiding your little "ship" across -the "sea of life"? How many a wreck there has been because men and women, and boys and girls, have followed 'their own ways and their own thoughts. Then others have left everything in the hands of some false guide who said he could guide .them safe to the glory land, but he has failed -them in their time of greatest need.
Do not go your own way, or trust your soul to any man, dear reader. The Lord Jesus alone can guide You safe to heaven. He shed His own precious blood to put away your sins, and now His hands, once pierced at Calvary, will hold you, as well as the "helm" of your "ship" and take you through all the difficulties of the way to His home above.
if you just trust Him, you need not fear the storm of coming judgment, for all is well for those who belong to Him. You can quietly and confidently put your head on your pillow at night and know that He will keep you safe in the "hollow of His hand" for time and eternity.
